How do I open or save MS Word docs & MS Excel spreadsheets

[Ability Office 98]

Word 97/2000/XP import was added in May 1999 and Excel 95/97/2000/XP support was added in Nov 98 - if you haven't got the most recent copy from our web site, you can do so here.

 

Ability Office 98

To Open

To Save

Word

In Ability Write

Select File/Open and set "Files of type" to Microsoft Word (*.doc)

Select File/Save and set "Save as type" to WinWord 6.0 (*.doc)

Excel

In Ability Spreadsheet

Select File/Open and set "Files of type" to Microsoft Excel (*.xls)

Select File/Save and set "Save as type" to Microsoft Excel (*.xls)

[Ability Office 2000 & Later]

Ability Office has built-in support for Excel 95/97/2000/XP. Word 95/97/2000/XP requires an import/export filter to be installed - if you haven't got this, please go to the download page

In Ability Write

Select File/Open and set "Files of type" to Microsoft Word (*.doc)
