Help About shows "Trial" rather than serial number

The problem is caused by a missing registry key. This will be solved in a future update of Ability. In the meantime, no action needs to be taken - if you start Ability and are not prompted to activate, then trial mode is turned off.

If you really want to correct the dialog, you can follow these steps:

  1. Get a command prompt - enter CMD into the Windows search box if you are not sure where to find it in the system menu.
  2. Enter the following (copy and paste this line and adjust to your own serial number):
    REG ADD "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Ability 8.0\Settings" /v ProductKey /d 00000-00000

Don't forget to change 00000-00000 to your own serial number!

Just to be clear, the above is purely cosmetic and will have no effect on the running of the software.
