You can use a standard Windows technique, drag and drop, to put Ability icons onto the desktop. The following instructions are for Windows XP but should work with earlier versions of Windows as well.
- Get the Desktop visible (e.g. minimize all applications or use the "Show Desktop" button on the Windows taskbar)
- Select Start
- Select All Programs/Ability Office
- Press the Ctrl Key and keep it pressed
- Drag and drop a program (say Write) onto the desktop
- Release the Ctrl Key
To remove an icon you have placed on the desktop, right-click over it and select Delete.
